If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. | If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. |
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers. | Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. |

Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops. | Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. |
And in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’ | And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. |
For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. | For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. |
Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? | And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? |
You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus. | Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. |
No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. | No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. |
In you, O Lord, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame; in your righteousness deliver me! | In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness. |
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. | Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving. |
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. | So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. |
Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge. | Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. |
Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ. | But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ. |
Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. | Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. |
O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch. | My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. |
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus. | Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. |
God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. | God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. |
Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” | After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. |
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. | If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. |
Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases. | But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased. |
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. | Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. |
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” | He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. |
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. | Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. |
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope. | I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. |
Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory. | And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. |
