John 14:19 (2/4)

When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me.
But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.
When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.
I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.Yes, I came from the Father into the world, and now I will leave the world and return to the Father.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.
Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!
I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.
When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed— for until then they still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead.
Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”“Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.
And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’I didn’t know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me, ‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.”Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.”
Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
