Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” | Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” |
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. | Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. |
|
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. | And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. |
If you love me, keep my commands. | If you love Me, keep My commandments. |
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever. | And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever. |
I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. | I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. |
Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them. | He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. |
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” | Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” |
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. | But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. |
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. | Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. |
I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. | I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. |
You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. | You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. |
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. | I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. |
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. | If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. |
This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. | By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. |
If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. | If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. |
I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. | These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. |
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. | This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. |
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. | Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. |
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. | You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. |
If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. | If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. |
When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me. | But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. |
But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. |
When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. | And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. |
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. | Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. |
