Bible Verses about Conversion

  • If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
  • For the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you if you return to him.
  • Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
  • The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

  • Rend your heart

with fasting and weeping and mourning.”

  • Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.
  • Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.
  • In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
  • In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.
  • Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.

Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame.
