Bible Verses about Conversion

  • If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
  • For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.
  • Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
  • The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
  • For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.
  • Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.
  • And rend your hearts and not your garments.
    Return to the Lord your God,
    for he is gracious and merciful,
    slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love;
    and he relents over disaster.
  • And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
  • Bear fruit in keeping with repentance.
  • Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
  • Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
  • From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
  • I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.
  • I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud
    and your sins like mist;
    return to me, for I have redeemed you.
  • Let the wicked forsake his way,
    and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
    let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,
    and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
  • The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.
  • Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts.
  • “Yet even now,” declares the Lord,
    “return to me with all your heart,
    with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”
  • Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.
  • But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.
  • Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
  • Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.
  • Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin.
  • The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.
  • Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
