And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing during those days. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. Luke 5:32	I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent. sin repentance conversion
Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! Luke 6:22	What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man. blessing persecution evil
But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. Luke 6:27-28	But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. obedience blessing prayer
Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. Luke 6:30	Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back. debt giving generosity
And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. Luke 6:33	And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much! righteousness reward
Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. Luke 6:36	You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate. goodness neighbor Father
Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37	Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. judgment forgiveness
Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you. Luke 6:38	Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. reward giving receiving
The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45	A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. Luke 8:16	No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house. honesty holiness light
But Jesus on hearing this answered him, “Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.” Luke 8:50	But when Jesus heard what had happened, he said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be healed.” fear faith healing
And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing over them. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces. Luke 9:16-17	Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers! miracles food prayer
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” Luke 9:23	Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.” obedience crucifixion
For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. Luke 9:24	If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. sacrifice life
And said to them, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For he who is least among you all is the one who is great.” Luke 9:48	Then he said to them, “Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me also welcomes my Father who sent me. Whoever is the least among you is the greatest.” humility Jesus
Heal the sick in it and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ Luke 10:9	Heal the sick, and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you now.’ healing sickness nearness
Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. Luke 10:20	But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven. joy heaven eternal life
And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27	The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” law love obedience
And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Luke 11:9	And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. prayer seeking reliability
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! Luke 11:13	So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him. Spirit prayer family
But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” Luke 11:28	Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.” Word of God life listening
Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. Luke 12:2	The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all. truth honesty
Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops. Luke 12:3	Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be shouted from the housetops for all to hear! sin speaking listening

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.

What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.
