Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill.
Don’t you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly?Or do you think that I couldn’t ask my Father, and he would even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?
Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock.

But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth.’”
God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”But Jesus said, “Allow the little children, and don’t forbid them to come to me; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these.”
And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul? For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?
So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy can be forgiven—except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which will never be forgiven. Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.I also tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.
And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come. This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.Pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’
Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”But you go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved. For most certainly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished.
