Then I acknowledged my sin to you, and I made no attempt to conceal my guilt. I said, “I will confess my offenses to the Lord,” and you removed the guilt of my sin. Selah | Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. |
As long as I remained silent, my body wasted away as the result of my groaning throughout the day. | When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. |
But as for me, I will look to the Lord. I place my hope in God my savior; my God will hear me. | As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me. |
By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples. | When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father. |

When my anxious thoughts multiplied, your comfort filled my soul with joy. | When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. |
But you, O Lord, are a shield to protect me; you are my glory and the one who raises my head high. | But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. |
If you love me, you will keep my commandments. | If you love me, obey my commandments. |
Your statutes are my everlasting heritage; they are the very joy of my heart. | Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight. |
I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah | I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain. |
Listen, my son, and take my words to heart, and the years of your life will be multiplied. | My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life. |
