Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise. | Give heed to my reproof; I will pour out my thoughts to you; I will make my words known to you. |
I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart. | I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart. |

But in my distress I cried out to the Lord; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears. | In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears. |
Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. | Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood abide in me, and I in them. |
Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God! | Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help and my God. |
I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. | For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. |
When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. | If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. |
Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. | For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him. |
When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. | While I kept silence, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long. |
Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. | Then I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not hide my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah |
You must keep my Sabbath days of rest and show reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord. | You shall keep my sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord. |
The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? | The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? |
Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight. | Your decrees are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart. |
You know what I long for, Lord; you hear my every sigh. | O Lord, all my longing is known to you; my sighing is not hidden from you. |
But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. | But you, O Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. |
You are my rock and my fortress. For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger. | You are indeed my rock and my fortress; for your name's sake lead me and guide me. |
If you love me, obey my commandments. | If you love me, you will keep my commandments. |
When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father. | My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples. |
But God is my helper. The Lord keeps me alive! | But surely, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life. |
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” | For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. |
I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! | I lift up my eyes to the hills— from where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. |
Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. | Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness; answer me in your righteousness. |
I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” | “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” |
O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. | O God, you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. |
So Jesus told them, “My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me.” | Then Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine but his who sent me.” |
