| He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world. | And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. |
| He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. How can we who died to sin go on living in it? |
| For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God. | You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God. |
