Bible Verses about Dependence

  • For I hold you by your right hand—
    I, the Lord your God.
    And I say to you,
    ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.’
  • Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
    do not depend on your own understanding.
    Seek his will in all you do,
    and he will show you which path to take.
  • We can make our plans,
    but the Lord determines our steps.
  • My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak,
    but God remains the strength of my heart;
    he is mine forever.
  • I look up to the mountains—
    does my help come from there?
    My help comes from the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth!
  • You can make many plans,
    but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.
  • Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
  • He gives power to the weak
    and strength to the powerless.
  • Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.
  • He will not let you stumble;
    the one who watches over you will not slumber.
  • So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
  • The Lord is my shepherd;
    I have all that I need.
    He lets me rest in green meadows;
    he leads me beside peaceful streams.
  • I know the Lord is always with me.
    I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
  • Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!
  • The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.
  • Unless the Lord builds a house,
    the work of the builders is wasted.
    Unless the Lord protects a city,
    guarding it with sentries will do no good.
  • The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich,
    and he adds no sorrow with it.
  • I cried out, “I am slipping!”
    but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me.
  • In my distress I prayed to the Lord,
    and the Lord answered me and set me free.
  • But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!
  • Enjoy prosperity while you can,
    but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God.
    Remember that nothing is certain in this life.
  • That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
  • Keep me safe, O God,
    for I have come to you for refuge.
  • They did not conquer the land with their swords;
    it was not their own strong arm that gave them victory.
    It was your right hand and strong arm
    and the blinding light from your face that helped them,
    for you loved them.
  • Turn us again to yourself, O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies.
    Make your face shine down upon us.
    Only then will we be saved.

Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.

You must serve only the Lord your God. If you do, I will bless you with food and water, and I will protect you from illness.

You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”Next verse!With image
