Bible Verses about Worrying

  • Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
  • Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
    Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
    I will strengthen you and help you.
    I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
  • Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
  • That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?
  • So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
  • When doubts filled my mind,
    your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.
  • Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.
  • I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
  • Worry weighs a person down;
    an encouraging word cheers a person up.
  • The greater my wisdom, the greater my grief.
    To increase knowledge only increases sorrow.
  • You know what I long for, Lord;
    you hear my every sigh.
  • That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing.
  • So refuse to worry, and keep your body healthy. But remember that youth, with a whole life before you, is meaningless.
  • And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
  • But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
  • The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced.
  • I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
  • Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship.
    He said,
    “I came naked from my mother’s womb,
    and I will be naked when I leave.
    The Lord gave me what I had,
    and the Lord has taken it away.
    Praise the name of the Lord!”
  • Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!
  • But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,
    and he will stand upon the earth at last.
  • For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.
