No room at the inn (3/4)

Even though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, even though the olive crop will fail and the orchards will yield no food, even though the flock is cut off from the fold and there is no herd in the stalls, I will continue to rejoice in the Lord, and exult in the God of my salvation.Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!
Consider the ravens. They do not sow or reap, they have no storehouse or barn, and yet God feeds them. You are of far greater importance than birds.Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!
There is no holy one like the Lord, there is none beside you, nor is there a rock like our God.No one is holy like the Lord! There is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.
Therefore, you must also be prepared, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.
Above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth, or use any oaths at all. Let your “Yes” mean “Yes” and your “No” mean “No.” Otherwise you may be condemned.But most of all, my brothers and sisters, never take an oath, by heaven or earth or anything else. Just say a simple yes or no, so that you will not sin and be condemned.
Jesus replied, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.
I am the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt. You know no God but me, nor any savior other than me.I have been the Lord your God ever since I brought you out of Egypt. You must acknowledge no God but me, for there is no other savior.
Seek peace with everyone, as well as the holiness without which no one will ever see the Lord.Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.
No one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God abides in us, and his love is made complete in us.No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.
Jesus looked at them and said, “For men this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”
During the day the Lord grants his kindness, and at night his praise is with me, a prayer to the living God.But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life.
You will show me the path to life; you will fill me with joy in your presence and everlasting delights at your right hand.You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
But what I tell you is this: Do not swear at all, either by heaven, since it is God’s throne, or by earth, since that is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, since that is the city of the great King.But I say, do not make any vows! Do not say, ‘By heaven!’ because heaven is God’s throne. And do not say, ‘By the earth!’ because the earth is his footstool. And do not say, ‘By Jerusalem!’ for Jerusalem is the city of the great King.
I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God. Repent and live!I don’t want you to die, says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live!
Jesus looked at them and said, “For men it is impossible, but not for God. For God all things are possible.”Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.”
And every day, both in the temple and at home, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming Jesus as the Christ.And every day, in the Temple and from house to house, they continued to teach and preach this message: “Jesus is the Messiah.”
Let your kindness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a pot or places it under a bed. Rather he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light.No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house.
And now, dear children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not be put to shame by him at his coming.And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame.
When the command is given, at the sound of the archangel’s voice and the call of God’s trumpet, the Lord himself will descend from heaven, and those who have died in Christ will be the first to rise. Then those of us who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them on clouds in the air to meet the Lord. And so, we will be with the Lord forever.For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.
I will walk in complete freedom because I have sought your commands.I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.
If a man has recently been married, he is not to go off to battle nor have any other duty laid on him. He will be free to stay at home for one year so that he can bring happiness to the wife whom he has married.A newly married man must not be drafted into the army or be given any other official responsibilities. He must be free to spend one year at home, bringing happiness to the wife he has married.
God chose those in the world who were lowly and despised, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who were regarded as worthy, so that no one could boast in the presence of God.God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.
Take no part in the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather seek to expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of what deeds people do in secret.Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret.

Can a woman forget the infant at her breast; or feel no compassion for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you. Behold, I have inscribed your name on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before my eyes.Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you! See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands. Always in my mind is a picture of Jerusalem’s walls in ruins.

Love is patient;
love is charitable.
Love is not envious;
it does not have an inflated opinion of itself;
it is not filled with its own importance.
Love is never rude;
it does not seek its own advantage.
It is not prone to anger;
neither does it brood over setbacks.
