| Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. | Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. |
| Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. | For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. |
| But when you had eaten and were satisfied, you became proud and forgot me. | According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me. |
| Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. | When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. | Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. |
