| Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. | The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. |

| Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. | Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. |

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. | So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. |
| And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. | You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it. |
| So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer. | So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer. |
| Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving. | Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. |
