| And that water is a picture of baptism, which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God from a clean conscience. It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. | There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. |

| He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. | So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. | And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. |

| He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth. | He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. |
| Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. | Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the Lord! |
