Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! | What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance. |
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love. | But the Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. |

The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry. | The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help. |
The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. | But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth. |
When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. | The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. |
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. | The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. |
The Lord redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. | But the Lord will redeem those who serve him. No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. |
Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. | Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. |

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. | Commit everything you do to the Lord. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! | Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. |
