For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory. | You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with glad cries of deliverance. Selah |
The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” | I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. |

For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. | For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness. |
He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth. | He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord. |
The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born. | By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all their host by the breath of his mouth. |
What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance. | Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage. |
But the Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. | Truly the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love. |
Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone. | Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you. |
I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. | I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. |
I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. | I sought the Lord, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. |
In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; he saved me from all my troubles. | This poor soul cried, and was heard by the Lord, and was saved from every trouble. |
Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! | O taste and see that the Lord is good; happy are those who take refuge in him. |
Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing. | The young lions suffer want and hunger, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. |
Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies! | Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. |
Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. | Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. |
The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help. | The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry. |
But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth. | The face of the Lord is against evildoers, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. |
The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. | When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit. |
The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. | Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord rescues them from them all. |
But the Lord will redeem those who serve him. No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. | The Lord redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. |
Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. | Trust in the Lord, and do good; so you will live in the land, and enjoy security. |
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. | Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. |
Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. | Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will make your vindication shine like the light, and the justice of your cause like the noonday. |
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. | Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him; do not fret over those who prosper in their way, over those who carry out evil devices. |
It is better to be godly and have little than to be evil and rich. For the strength of the wicked will be shattered, but the Lord takes care of the godly. | Better is a little that the righteous person has than the abundance of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous. |
