| As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the Lord is refined; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. | God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. |

| He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may take refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and wall. | He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. |

If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. | After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. |

| Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. | Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. |
