Therefore, put on the armor of God, so that you will be able to hold fast on the evil day and to hold your ground with all your strength. | Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. |
The Lord redeems the lives of those who serve him; no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him. | The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. |

This is what love is: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. | Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. |
My deliverance and my glory depend on God; he is my mighty rock and my refuge. | In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. |
I reprove and discipline all those whom I love. Therefore, be sincere in your desire to repent. | As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. |
May the Lord cause your love to increase and overflow for one another and for everyone else, just as our love does for you. | And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you. |
To do your will, O God, is my delight; your law is in my heart. | I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. |
But I say to you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. | But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you. |
Over all these put on love, which is the bond of perfection. | And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. |

And ‘to love him with all your heart, and with all your understanding, and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself,’ is worth more than any burnt offerings and sacrifices. | And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. |
So Christ, having been offered once to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to bring salvation to those who are eagerly waiting for him. | So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. |
If you refuse to listen to me and do not sincerely resolve to give glory to my name, says the Lord of hosts, I will send a curse on you, and I will turn your blessings into a curse. Indeed, I have already done so because you have not heeded my warning. | If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. |

The brother who is in modest circumstances should take pride in being raised up. Likewise, the one who is rich should glory in being brought low, for he will disappear like a flower of the field. | Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. |
May the Lord guide your hearts to the love of God and the steadfastness of Christ. | And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ. |
Dearly beloved, never seek revenge. Leave that to the time of retribution. For it is written, “Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. I will repay.” | Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. |
You shall not hate your brother in your heart, nor shall you rebuke your brother in any way, lest you bear sin because of him. You shall not seek vengeance nor bear a grudge against the children of your people. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord. | Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord. |
For the entire Law can be summed up in a single commandment: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” | For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. |
