| Now I say this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows generously will also reap generously. | Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. |

| There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. | Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. |
| And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him. | And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. |
| He who finds a wife finds a good thing And obtains favor from the Lord. | The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the Lord. |
| I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats from this bread, he will live forever; and the bread which I will give for the life of the world also is My flesh. | I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh. |
| But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed as having been performed in God. | But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants. |
| A generous person will be prosperous, And one who gives others plenty of water will himself be given plenty. | The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. |
| We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. | We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. |
| Like a city that is broken into and without walls So is a person who has no self-control over his spirit. | A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls. |

| One who gets wisdom loves his own soul; One who keeps understanding will find good. | To acquire wisdom is to love yourself; people who cherish understanding will prosper. |
| But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. | But those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers. |
| And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God must also love his brother and sister. | And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers. |
| The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, And he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him. | The father of godly children has cause for joy. What a pleasure to have children who are wise. |
| Wealth obtained from nothing dwindles, But one who gathers by labor increases it. | Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time. |
| When there are many words, wrongdoing is unavoidable, But one who restrains his lips is wise. | Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut. |
| But the one who endures to the end is the one who will be saved. | But the one who endures to the end will be saved. |
