He called the crowd with his disciples, and said to them, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
Truly I tell you, if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and if you do not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you say will come to pass, it will be done for you.Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.
And let the one who believes in me drink. As the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer's heart shall flow rivers of living water.’Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’
And the world and its desire are passing away, but those who do the will of God live forever.And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
One who forgives an affront fosters friendship, but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.Whoever covers an offense seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates close friends.
How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?
Everyone who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord.He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.
But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God.But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.
A generous person will be enriched, and one who gives water will get water.Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.
So we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them.So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
Like a city breached, without walls, is one who lacks self-control.A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.
Jesus answered them, “Very truly, I tell you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.”Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.”
To get wisdom is to love oneself; to keep understanding is to prosper.Whoever gets sense loves his own soul; he who keeps understanding will discover good.

Those who say, “I love God,” and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen.If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.
Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
