Bible Verses about 'Why do bad things happen'

Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?Why do you see the speck in your neighbor's eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye?
Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins by calling on His name. And now why do you delay? Get up, be baptized, and have your sins washed away, calling on his name.
Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
Why are you in despair, my soul? And why are you restless within me? Wait for God, for I will again praise Him For the help of His presence, my God.Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help and my God.
And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?’I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’
Do not say, “Why is it that the former days were better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this.Do not say, “Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this.
Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth.Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
All things are permitted, but not all things are of benefit. All things are permitted, but not all things build people up.“All things are lawful,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.
And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will happen.”Jesus answered them, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be done.”
Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted to him.Truly I tell you, if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and if you do not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you say will come to pass, it will be done for you.
And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, then behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them, and they said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”While he was going and they were gazing up toward heaven, suddenly two men in white robes stood by them. They said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
It does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. It does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Now faith is the certainty of things hoped for, a proof of things not seen. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
All things are permitted for me, but not all things are of benefit. All things are permitted for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.
And the insignificant things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no human may boast before God.God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are, so that no one might boast in the presence of God.
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.Because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.
But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control? Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God.”“Ananias,” Peter asked, “why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, were not the proceeds at your disposal? How is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You did not lie to us but to God!”
And if you say in your heart, ‘How will we recognize the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ When the prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, and the thing does not happen or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you are not to be afraid of him.You may say to yourself, “How can we recognize a word that the Lord has not spoken?” If a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord but the thing does not take place or prove true, it is a word that the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; do not be frightened by it.
But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
Yet for us there is only one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.
For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.
For those who are in accord with the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are in accord with the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.Do not love the world or the things in the world. The love of the Father is not in those who love the world.
