Why do bad things happen (3/4)

Praise the Lord in song, for He has done glorious things; Let this be known throughout the earth.Sing to Yahweh, for he has done excellent things! Let this be known in all the earth!
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
I have made a covenant with my eyes; How then could I look at a virgin?I made a covenant with my eyes; how then should I look lustfully at a young woman?
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
And it happened that He was passing through the grainfields on the Sabbath, and His disciples began to make their way along while picking the heads of grain. The Pharisees were saying to Him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?” And He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and he and his companions became hungry; how he entered the house of God in the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the consecrated bread, which is not lawful for anyone to eat except the priests, and he also gave it to those who were with him?” Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord, even of the Sabbath.”He was going on the Sabbath day through the grain fields; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of grain. The Pharisees said to him, “Behold, why do they do that which is not lawful on the Sabbath day?” He said to them, “Did you never read what David did when he had need and was hungry—he, and those who were with him? How he entered into God’s house at the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the show bread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and gave also to those who were with him?” He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”
Do not participate in the useless deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
But as for you, proclaim the things which are fitting for sound doctrine. But say the things which fit sound doctrine.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
So, having obtained help from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, stating nothing but what the Prophets and Moses said was going to take place, as to whether the Christ was to suffer, and whether, as first from the resurrection of the dead, He would proclaim light both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.Having therefore obtained the help that is from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would happen, how the Christ must suffer, and how, by the resurrection of the dead, he would be first to proclaim light both to these people and to the Gentiles.
I, I Myself, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you are afraid of mortal man, And of a son of man who is made like grass.I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you, that you are afraid of man who shall die, and of the son of man who will be made as grass?
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?
But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and remind you of all that I said to you.But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.
From the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, these things should not be this way.Out of the same mouth comes blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight.Beloved, if our hearts don’t condemn us, we have boldness toward God; so whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
But He said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.”But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your hand we have given to You.But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and we have given you of your own.
Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; Whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right, And the righteous will walk in them, But wrongdoers will stumble in them.Who is wise, that he may understand these things? Who is prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of Yahweh are right, and the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.
In addition to all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection.
Now if a person sins and does any of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, though he was unaware, he is still guilty and shall bear his punishment. If anyone sins, doing any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, though he didn’t know it, he is still guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.
