Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from one person's envy of another. This also is vanity and a chasing after wind.Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind.
You call me Teacher and Lord—and you are right, for that is what I am.You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am.
Where can I go from your spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there.
I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.

Better is a little that the righteous person has than the abundance of many wicked. And baptism, which this prefigured, now saves you—not as a removal of dirt from the body, but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.And that water is a picture of baptism, which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God from a clean conscience. It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is justified not by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ. And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by doing the works of the law, because no one will be justified by the works of the law.You and I are Jews by birth, not ‘sinners’ like the Gentiles. Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.
She will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.
Now I would remind you, brothers and sisters, of the good news that I proclaimed to you, which you in turn received, in which also you stand, through which also you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message that I proclaimed to you—unless you have come to believe in vain.Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place.
Because you are precious in my sight, and honored, and I love you, I give people in return for you, nations in exchange for your life.Others were given in exchange for you. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you.
I, I am he who comforts you; why then are you afraid of a mere mortal who must die, a human being who fades like grass?I, yes I, am the one who comforts you. So why are you afraid of mere humans, who wither like the grass and disappear?

How much more valuable is a human being than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the sabbath.And how much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Yes, the law permits a person to do good on the Sabbath.
