| Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. As I gave you the green herb, I have given everything to you. I am giving you these instructions so you will enjoy a long life in the land the Lord your God is giving you for all time. |

| If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. | If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back. |

It is unclean to you. | Of all the marine animals, you may eat whatever has both fins and scales. You may not, however, eat marine animals that do not have both fins and scales. They are ceremonially unclean for you. |
| For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise. | Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. |

| Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear you, which you have worked for those who take refuge in you, before the sons of men! | How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. |
| I spread out my hands to you. My soul thirsts for you, like a parched land. Selah. | I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain. |
| “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.” | “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” |
