| Do not love the world or what is in the world. If anyone does love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. | Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him. |
| For all of us fall short in many ways. Anyone who never makes a mistake in speech has reached perfection and is able to control every part of his body. | For we all stumble in many things. Anyone who doesn’t stumble in word is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also. |
| Can someone hide in a secret place so that I cannot see him? Do I not fill heaven and earth? | “Can anyone hide himself in secret places so that I can’t see him?” says Yahweh. “Don’t I fill heaven and earth?” says Yahweh. |
| Make sure that no one pays back evil for evil. Rather, always aim to achieve what is best for each other and for everyone. | See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all. |
