The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. | Yahweh is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness. |
Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. | Honor Yahweh with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase. |
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.” | They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” |
The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in those who tell the truth. | Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight. |
He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth. | He loves righteousness and justice. The earth is full of the loving kindness of Yahweh. |
The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe. | Yahweh’s name is a strong tower: the righteous run to him, and are safe. |
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. | Oh give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever. |
Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness. | Great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised! His greatness is unsearchable. |
Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. | ‘Return to me,’ says Yahweh of Armies, ‘and I will return to you,’ says Yahweh of Armies. |
In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; he saved me from all my troubles. | This poor man cried, and Yahweh heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. |
The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help. | Yahweh’s eyes are toward the righteous. His ears listen to their cry. |

But the Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. | Behold, Yahweh’s eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness. |
Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the world. | Sing to Yahweh, for he has done excellent things! Let this be known in all the earth! |
Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see. For the glory of the Lord rises to shine on you. | Arise, shine; for your light has come, and Yahweh’s glory has risen on you! |
So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” | So that with good courage we say, “The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?” |
Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands. | Praise Yah! Blessed is the man who fears Yahweh, who delights greatly in his commandments. |
