| The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. | For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. |

| Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God. | Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. |
