Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. Romans 15:4	For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.” John 14:8	Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Father contentment
And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 2 Corinthians 5:18	All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. reconciliation evangelism
Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. 1 Timothy 6:17	As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. money joy materialism
And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful! Psalm 90:17	Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands! grace encouragement work
And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. Matthew 6:13	And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. temptation desires evil
No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us. John 1:18	No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known. Jesus Father nearness

The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. 2 Peter 1:4	By which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. reward desires world
