Fruit of the spirit (3/4)

And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who are peacemakers.
We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away. The righteous is remembered with blessings, but the name of the wicked fades away.
For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. For the word of the Lord is true, and he is faithful in everything he does.
Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord.Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in accord with the law of the Lord.
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. The tongue has the power over life and death; those who cherish it will enjoy its fruits.
No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And just as no human being comprehends any person’s innermost being except the person’s own spirit within him, so also no one comprehends what pertains to God except the Spirit of God.
Until at last the Spirit is poured out on us from heaven. Then the wilderness will become a fertile field, and the fertile field will yield bountiful crops.Until a spirit from on high is poured out upon us, and the wilderness becomes an orchard and the fruitful field becomes a forest.
True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life. The reward of humility and fear of the Lord is wealth, honor, and life.
The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.”For thus says the One who is high and exalted, who lives eternally and whose name is holy: I dwell in a high and holy place but I am with the contrite and the humble, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite.
The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.The blessing of the Lord is what brings wealth, and our toil adds nothing to it.
The words of the godly are like sterling silver; the heart of a fool is worthless. The tongue of the just man is like pure silver; the heart of the wicked is without worth.
The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced. The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word, but worldly cares and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit.
The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing. The hope of the righteous brings them joy, but the expectations of the wicked are frustrated.
Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.I am confident that I will behold the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
The godly are showered with blessings; the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions.Blessings are showered on the head of the righteous, but sorrow will cover the face of the wicked.
But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. However, the wisdom that comes from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, and considerate, full of mercy and good fruits, without any trace of partiality or hypocrisy.
One should be kind to a fainting friend, but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty. One who despairs should have the support of his friends even if he has forsaken the fear of the Almighty.
The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe. The name of the Lord is a tower of strength; the upright man runs to it and finds refuge.
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Fear of the Lord teaches wisdom; humility precedes honor. The fear of the Lord provides instruction in wisdom, and to be humble is the way to honor.
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. Thus there are three things that endure: faith, hope, and love, and the greatest of these is love.
The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry.
The lips of the godly speak helpful words, but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverse words. The lips of the righteous utter words of kindness, but the mouth of the wicked knows only how to pervert.
But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin.Blessed is the man whom God reproves. Therefore, do not reject the discipline of the Almighty.
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. In the same way, even the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs that cannot be put into words.

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”For you did not receive a spirit of slavery leading to fear; rather, you received the Spirit of adoption, enabling us to cry out, “Abba! Father!”

The Lord protects the foreigners among us.
He cares for the orphans and widows,
