My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you. For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights. When the Gentiles sin, they will be destroyed, even though they never had God’s written law. And the Jews, who do have God’s law, will be judged by that law when they fail to obey it. No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way. Suppose you sin by violating one of the Lord’s commands. Even if you are unaware of what you have done, you are guilty and will be punished for your sin. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God. The Lord will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name. Deuteronomy 5:11	You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain, for the Lord will not consider blameless those who take his name in vain. law
Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good. Deuteronomy 8:5	Thus you could understand that the Lord, your God, was disciplining you, just like a father disciplines his son. Father learning

God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy. But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land. The Lord protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked. Psalm 146:9	The Lord watches over the stranger and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he blocks the way of the wicked. protection orphans widows
But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:15	However, the gift is not like the transgression.
