| Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. No one who is unclean may pass over it; it will serve as a path for pilgrims and no fool will be able to use it. |
| No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house. | No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a pot or places it under a bed. Rather he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light. |
