- So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.
- For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
- So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.
- For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
- You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.
- I will walk in freedom,
for I have devoted myself to your commandments. - The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me,
for the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted
and to proclaim that captives will be released
and prisoners will be freed. - The righteous person faces many troubles,
but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. - For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil.
- Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
- So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.
- But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life.
- The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see,
that the oppressed will be set free. - But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
- God places the lonely in families;
he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.
But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land. - Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not!
- Help us, O God of our salvation!
Help us for the glory of your name.
Save us and forgive our sins
for the honor of your name. - Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is made right in God’s sight—something the law of Moses could never do.
- You who love the Lord, hate evil!
He protects the lives of his godly people
and rescues them from the power of the wicked.
Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens!
May your glory shine over all the earth. Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.”Next verse! With image
