- Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
- Don’t get sidetracked;
keep your feet from following evil. - So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.
- Now may the God of peace—
who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus,
the great Shepherd of the sheep,
and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood—
may he equip you with all you need
for doing his will.
May he produce in you,
through the power of Jesus Christ,
every good thing that is pleasing to him.
All glory to him forever and ever! Amen. - Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.
- But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.
- When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.
- I will hurry, without delay,
to obey your commands.
