Fruit of the spirit (3/4)

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s love, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away. The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot.
For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. For Yahweh’s word is right. All his work is done in faithfulness.
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit.
Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord.Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to Yahweh’s law.
True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life. The result of humility and the fear of Yahweh is wealth, honor, and life.
Until at last the Spirit is poured out on us from heaven. Then the wilderness will become a fertile field, and the fertile field will yield bountiful crops.Until the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is considered a forest.
No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. For who among men knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except God’s Spirit.
The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.Yahweh’s blessing brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.
The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.”For the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy, says: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.”
The words of the godly are like sterling silver; the heart of a fool is worthless. The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver. The heart of the wicked is of little worth.
The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced. What was sown among the thorns, this is he who hears the word, but the cares of this age and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living.
The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing. The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hope of the wicked will perish.
The godly are showered with blessings; the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions.Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
One should be kind to a fainting friend, but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty. To him who is ready to faint, kindness should be shown from his friend; even to him who forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.Yahweh’s name is a strong tower: the righteous run to him, and are safe.
Fear of the Lord teaches wisdom; humility precedes honor. The fear of Yahweh teaches wisdom. Before honor is humility.
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love.
The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.Yahweh’s eyes are toward the righteous. His ears listen to their cry.
But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin.Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
The lips of the godly speak helpful words, but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverse words. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked is perverse.
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered.

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
