| Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me. | Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is with those who uphold my life. |
| So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” | So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” |

| The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” | And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” |
| And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever. | And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever. |

| But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. |
| Because I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist them. The one who was dying blessed me; I made the widow’s heart sing. | Because I delivered the poor who cried out, The fatherless and the one who had no helper. The blessing of a perishing man came upon me, And I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy. |
| Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is. | Seek good and not evil, That you may live; So the Lord God of hosts will be with you, As you have spoken. |
