Him (2/4)

But without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever comes to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
But if you seek the Lord, your God, and you strive with all your heart and your soul, you will find him there. But from there you will search again for the Lord your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him.
As Scripture asserts, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.”As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”
God is Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in Spirit and truth. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.
The Lord is my portion, I say to myself; therefore, I will place my hope in him.I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”
And the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I wish to make another creature who will be like him.”Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”
Blessed are those who observe his statutes and seek him with their whole heart.Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!
While Peter was thus imprisoned, the Church prayed fervently to God for him.But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.
Beloved, we are God’s children now. What we shall be has not yet been revealed. However, we do know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he really is. Everyone who has this hope in him keeps himself pure, just as he is pure.Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.
Every word of God has proved to be true; he is a shield to those who trust in him.Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.
However, to those who did accept him and who believed in his name he granted the power to become children of God.But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
But whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never be thirsty. The water that I will give him will become a spring of water within him welling up to eternal life. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.
And when he had been made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him.
Therefore, observe the commandments of the Lord, your God. Walk in his ways and fear him.So obey the commands of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and fearing him.
Jesus said to him, “Go on your way! Your faith has made you well.” Immediately, he received his sight and followed him along the road. And Jesus said to him, “Go, for your faith has healed you.” Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus down the road.
But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those who trust in his kindness. But the Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love.
The one who eats everything must not look contemptuously on the one who does not, and the one who abstains must not pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed both. Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them.
Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we can approach God with confidence and receive from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commandments and do whatever is pleasing to him.Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him.
Whoever feeds upon my flesh and drinks my blood dwells in me and I dwell in him.Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.
As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him.The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
This is how we can be certain that we abide in him and that he abides in us: he has given us a share in his Spirit. And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us.
If your brother should sin, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. Even if he wrongs you seven times a day, and comes back to you seven times to say, ‘I am sorry,’ you must forgive him.If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive. Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.
In my anguish I cried out; the Lord heard my plea, and I was saved from all my troubles. In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; he saved me from all my troubles.
The Lord is good, an unfailing refuge in a time of distress. He takes care of those who place their trust in him.The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.

Then Peter came up to him and asked, “Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus answered, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy times seven.”Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!”

Bible verse of the day

All this took place in order to fulfill what the Lord had announced through the prophet:
“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and give birth to a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,”
