If we claim that we have fellowship with him while we continue to live in darkness, we are lying and do not live in the truth. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.
I do not set aside the grace of God, for if justification comes through the Law, then Christ died for nothing.I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!
But if you seek the Lord, your God, and you strive with all your heart and your soul, you will find him there. But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.
However, if we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all wrongdoing. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
For the Lord, your God, is gracious and compassionate, and he will not turn his face away from you if you return to him.For the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you if you return to him.
So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.
If someone among you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without finding fault, and it will be given to him.If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
And thus we can have confidence in him that if we ask anything that is in accordance with his will, he hears us.This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
Jesus answered them, “Amen, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to this fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be accomplished.”Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”
In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask him, we may be sure that all we ask of him will be ours. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
Yet even if you should suffer for doing what is right, you are thereby blessed. Have no fear of others, and refuse to be intimidated by them. But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.”
If I have the gift of prophecy and the ability to understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and have all the faith necessary to move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
