If you love me, you will keep my commandments. | If ye love me, keep my commandments. |
Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you then will truly be free. | If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. |
|
If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. | For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. |
If your brother should sin, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. Even if he wrongs you seven times a day, and comes back to you seven times to say, ‘I am sorry,’ you must forgive him. | If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. |
My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad. | My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine. |
Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right? | And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? |
If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you. | If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. |
In the same way, faith by itself is dead if it does not have works. | Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. |
The Lord is with you while you are with him. If you seek him, he will permit you to find him, but if you abandon him, he will abandon you. | The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. |
If your brother wrongs you, go and take up the matter with him when the two of you are alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. | Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. |
Jesus answered, “If it is possible! All things are possible for one who has faith.” | Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. |
What then if you were to behold the Son of Man ascend to where he was before? | What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? |
If he refuses to listen to them, report it to the Church. And if he refuses to listen to the Church, treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector. | And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. |
But if we hope for what we do not yet see, then we wait for it with patience. | But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. |
Where can I go to hide from your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I ascend to the heavens, you are there; if I take my rest in the netherworld, you are also there. | Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. |
Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth: it is better for you that I depart. For if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you, whereas if I go, I will send him to you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. |
If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit. | If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. |
This saying can be trusted: If we have died with him, we shall also live with him. | It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him. |
What then can we say in response to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us? | What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? |
However, if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you are upright in your dealings with your neighbor; if you do not oppress the alien, the orphan, and the widow; if you do not shed innocent blood in this place; and if you do not follow other gods and thereby cause your own destruction, then I will allow you to live in this place, in the land that I gave as a permanent gift to your fathers long ago. | For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever. |
Jesus replied, “Did I not tell you that if you have faith you will see the glory of God?” | Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? |
But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. | But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. |
If you forgive others for the wrongs they have done, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. | For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. |
If anyone wishes to serve me, he must follow me. Where I am, there also will my servant be. If anyone serves me, my Father will honor that person. | If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. |
This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples: if you love one another. | By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. |
