| What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. | When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. |
| Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. | Therefore whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed from the housetops. |
| And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. | I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. |

| Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving. | Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with thanksgiving. |

| But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ. | But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ. |
| And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? | Why do you see the speck in your neighbor's eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye? |
| No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. | No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us. |
| After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. | Pray then in this way: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. |

| Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. | Do not love the world or the things in the world. The love of the Father is not in those who love the world. |

| For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power. | For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have come to fullness in him, who is the head of every ruler and authority. |
| If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. | If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. |
| And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. | Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is great: He was revealed in flesh, vindicated in spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed in throughout the world, taken up in glory. |
| My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. | O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I plead my case to you, and watch. |
