| If anyone wishes to serve me, he must follow me. Where I am, there also will my servant be. If anyone serves me, my Father will honor that person. | If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. |
| You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. | Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. |
| So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. | If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. |

| I give you a new commandment: love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you should also love one another. | A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. |
| This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples: if you love one another. | By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. |
