How can young people keep their way pure? By guarding it according to your word. | How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. |
Iron sharpens iron, and one person sharpens the wits of another. | Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance. |
For they said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, indulging their own ungodly lusts.” It is these worldly people, devoid of the Spirit, who are causing divisions. | They said to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts.” These are those who cause divisions and are sensual, not having the Spirit. |
For what will it profit them to gain the whole world and forfeit their life? | For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? |
