Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.
And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.
Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”
The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.
Turn back, and say to Hezekiah the leader of my people, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.Go back to Hezekiah, the leader of my people. Tell him, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will heal you, and three days from now you will get out of bed and go to the Temple of the Lord.’
Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all.
Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.Go and gather together all the Jews of Susa and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will do the same. And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I must die.
For we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.
Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there.
If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.
But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.
In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.
My soul yearns for you in the night; my spirit within me earnestly seeks you. For when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.In the night I search for you; in the morning I earnestly seek you. For only when you come to judge the earth will people learn what is right.
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, you are God.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Do not forsake your friend and your father's friend, and do not go to your brother's house in the day of your calamity. Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother who is far away.Never abandon a friend— either yours or your father’s. When disaster strikes, you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance. It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away.
Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”“Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.”
