Bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord. We bless you from the house of the Lord. |
| This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. | Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. |

| Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. | Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success. |
| Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. | May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. |
| He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. | He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. |
| Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit. | Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind. |
| And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it. | And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful! |
| Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. | Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation. |
| Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. | Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. |
| And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself. | Observe the requirements of the Lord your God, and follow all his ways. Keep the decrees, commands, regulations, and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go. |
