- For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
- Why art thou cast down, O my soul?
and why art thou disquieted within me?
hope thou in God:
for I shall yet praise him,
who is the health of my countenance, and my God. - But they that wait upon the Lord
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint. - The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil:
he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in
from this time forth, and even for evermore. - Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
- Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
- And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope.
- Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
- And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
- Thou art my hiding place and my shield:
I hope in thy word. - Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
- Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart,
all ye that hope in the Lord. - Therefore I will look unto the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation:
my God will hear me. - But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
- Hope deferred maketh the heart sick:
but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. - The Lord is my portion, saith my soul;
therefore will I hope in him. - Lead me in thy truth, and teach me:
for thou art the God of my salvation;
on thee do I wait all the day. - And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
- Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us,
according as we hope in thee. - I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait,
and in his word do I hope. - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
- The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me;
because the Lord hath anointed me
to preach good tidings unto the meek;
he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to them that are bound. - But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.
- To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
- There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling.
So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul:
when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward,
and thy expectation shall not be cut off.Remove far from me vanity and lies:
give me neither poverty nor riches;
feed me with food convenient for me.
