Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.
Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.”
Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord.So I will show my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine.Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine.
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment.
If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine.My son, if your heart is wise, my heart too will be glad.
Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”
Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the Lord God of Israel.He said, “Then put away the foreign gods that are among you, and incline your heart to the Lord, the God of Israel.”
Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the Lord your God disciplines you.

Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from a man's envy of his neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.
