In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? Who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace. Who has performed and done this, calling the generations from the beginning? I, the Lord, am first, and will be with the last.

Who has performed these deeds and accomplished this? Who has summoned the nations from the beginning? I, the Lord, am the first, and I will be there with the last.
