- Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.
- If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
- When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them and they spoke with other languages and prophesied.
- Deliver my soul, Yahweh, from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue. - If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
- In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience,
but he who restrains his lips does wisely. - Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is counted wise.
When he shuts his lips, he is thought to be discerning. - For we all stumble in many things. Anyone who doesn’t stumble in word is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also.
- For,
“He who would love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good.
Let him seek peace and pursue it.”
God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way. God relented of the disaster which he said he would do to them, and he didn’t do it. Now I beg you, brothers, through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.Next verse! With image
