| But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. | Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant. | For am I now seeking the favor of people, or of God? | The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand. | The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. |
| This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” | For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written: “But the righteous one will live by faith.” |
